First off, excuse the wrinkles. I wore this outfit to work and woke up way too late to steam this gorgeous silk tee before running out the door. I feel like I am not doing this top justice — I love the simplicity of the cut but the elegance of the fabric. I got it from the stylist at one of the OPI photo shoots. She found it (along with a similar-hued Rag & Bone skirt that I also inherited) at Nordstrom Rack in Costa Mesa. (I thought it was so cool that even stylists with big budgets do some of their pull at The Rack.)
This ensemble is textbook high-low dressing. The top is Vince and I got it for about $70 (but that was the Rack price, retail is about $180.) The pants are Target. Yes, Target. They have been making really well fitting tailored skinny crop trousers, so I’ve collected them in a few different prints. The jacket was an investment piece I picked up in Italy. It is seriously the best purchase I have ever made. When in college and traveling abroad, it was hard to part with those 200 euros. But, despite having to eat canned peas at a Florence train station because I couldn’t take any more money out of the ATM for another 24 hours, I thank my reckless decision making every time I slip on this buttery soft piece. The shoes are Dolce Vita from Urban Outfitters. The padlock necklace is a Rodarte rip-off. You can see how to DIY it here. And the manicure is OPI, Brazil Collection.
