Sunday Brunch Series: LA Chapter @ The ACE

Ok, so it’s pretty common knowledge that everyone loves brunch. (If you don’t love brunch you have problems that need to be tended to, so stop reading this blog and go figure them out.)

Phew! Now that they’re gone, us brunch lovers can indulge in this first stop in what will be a series of Sunday brunches. Hope that they make you drool a little and inspire you to try a new spot for you next lazy weekend meal with friends.

Welcome to the restaurant at the new ACE hotel in Downtown LA!

The perfect almond milk latte.

I was so happy to see brûlée’d grapefruit with fresh mint and ginger on the menu. It was so juicy. One of my favorite breakfast treats.

The ricotta pancakes topped with almond butter and fresh fruit were so moist (deal with it) and rich. I kept stealing bites from Rachel’s plate.

Between this girl’s nail game and the picture-perfect avocado toast, I’m not sure which I was in love with more.

Aerial view of the LA Chapter dining room – it’s at street level, adjacent to the main lobby at The ACE Hotel, Downtown LA.

After brunch, we took a peek upstairs. The rooftop lounge was an Amazonian dream. It was all open air and drenched in sun. The decor was an inviting medley of wood, leather and native tapestry; tons of casual seating that begged us to come back with a big group of friends. This is going to be a major turn up come summer.

I mean, just look at the view…

After leaving the ACE, Rachel and I walked a few blocks (past the iconic Rialto-theater-turned-Urban-Outfitters-concept-location; see below) to a designer consignment shop that I have been following on Instagram for awhile now, “Buttons and Bows.”

The shop is owned by the offspring of Bob Marley, which is rad.

I fell in love with this gem. Love to wear it alone with crew necklines or layered with another statement necklace if I’m really craving some bling.

And there you have it! Sunday brunch and a little boutiquing! Thanks to my girl Rachel for coming along for the ride and wielding the camera like a pro whenever I asked her to be my stand-in blogger boyfriend.

Until next Sunday, enjoy! (Also – if there are spots you’d like me to try out and blog about, lemme know in the comments below!)
